Set of four club chairs, velvet, stained ash, Italy, 1950s

This lovely set of Italian lounge chairs is characterized by a sophisticated aesthetic due to its curvaceous lines and round edges. The seating area is supported by sleek outward-facing legs in stained ash. The top of the backrest is pointed upwards and gracefully develops into a concave shape on both sides. From there, the armrests turn into wings that curl outward in an elegant way. The style is simple and understated, where clear, fluent lines are allowed to emerge in the design. This specific model reminds of the lounge chairs created by Ico Parisi (1916-1996) for Ariberto Colombo in the 1950s.
